Hi! I’m New Here.

This is my first ever blog post in what I hope will be a very informative and engaging place for you all to come for knowledge on home improvement.. specifically kitchen design and exterior home upgrades like windows and doors (hence our business name, The Window Shop & DesignBy Kitchens right??) 

While it’s my first blog post it definitely isn’t my first time around the industry block. I have been designing kitchens for 15 years (odd since I’m still only 23). Hot off the heels of my Interior Decorating diploma I entered into the world of kitchens and nothing else has taken my attention away since.

What I love about kitchen design is the unique blend of getting to work with beautiful materials and the needed mathematical precision for a successful project. It allows me to exercise my creative AND type A sides.  Connecting with trades people and continuously learning about the construction industry is also why I love my job…. I mean I married a carpenter so I’ve definitely committed right? 

While kitchens have my heart, after working at The Window Shop for 10 years, I’ve picked up some useful knowledge on the world of exterior design as well. With the help of my colleagues we’ll also provide some useful tips and guidance on everything from windows, doors, siding, garage doors, and more.
